Avery Allen
Avery Allen was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina. Throughout her elementary education, teachers wrote on her report cards "Avery talks excessively." She internalized this comment and decided to focus her natural linguistic talents to her advantage. Avery is a Spring 2015 magna cum laude graduate of Howard University with B.A. in Journalism with a concentration in Advertising and a minor in Psychology. She is also a Spring 2017 Clemson University graduate with an M.A. in Communications, Technology, and Society. Her thesis was a practical application of nonprofit strategic communication in multicultural outreach and engagement.
Avery has been able to channel her interests into working positions on Capitol Hill, Biden for President, Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Rainbow PUSH Coalition in Greenville and Washington, DC, and many more. Each of these experiences has given her unique perspectives on people, and how and why they communicate. In June 2017, she started her business, A. Allen Consulting LLC. The purpose of which is to provide high quality advertising, strategic communication, and branding services for a diverse clientele. Currently her clients range from individuals to nonprofit organizations, to start up operations. Avery's blog, From the Desk of A. Allen, is a stream of consciousness about her millennial professional experiences. She is excited about the opportunities and growth possibilities these endeavors present.
Avery has always had a passion for language, writing, and education. She is a charismatic young woman working hard to create her future. Her past work and current endeavors are a reflection of her talents and goals. Avery strives to provide unique perspective and use her communications skills and talents to be an innovator in the world.
